DESIGN OVERVIEW:

A drill design that is written with all consideration of available field boundaries and rehearsal space as outlined by director.

A drill written to GRID when possible, geometric shapes and curvilinear hit points on a dot for ease of teaching and improved rehearsal pace.

Consistent staging and strategic movement based on melodic statements and strength of performing ensemble.

Logical guard placement and integration/transitions whether a small or large guard program.

Show can be custom designed with your detailed notes, completely designed by Mr. Sandoval or a combination to create a logical and creative design as possible.

Stress is placed on logical length phrases and sets that fit the music and for hold impact moments.

Attention to theme of show with use of props or a clear field.

As an experienced adjudicator and designer (30 years of design) Mr. Sandoval works to reflect all demands of the UIL Rubric and still create a variety of design tools (geometric, curvilinear, rotations, follow the leader, symmetrical, asymmetrical etc...)

Included in package: YouTube video w/ 3D animation set to music, coordinate sheets, PDF field grid, option to utilize and set up the Pyware or UDB app at small additional cost for all students and staff.

Mr. Sandoval’s experience includes writing for bands in class 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A. Six bands with his design have made the Texas 1A, 4A, 5A, and 6A UIL Texas State Marching Contest including an Area Championship. The programs he has written for have also made UIL Area finals, numerous placements at marching festivals and consistent UIL 1st Divisions.
